Set high above the sea on a grassy hillside, this stylish villa has access to its own private rocky beach and huge views that extend across the ocean all the way to the spectacular peak of Bali’s mystical Mount Agung. Fresh and modern in its design, Malimbu Cliff Villa on the island of Lombok, Indonesia features crisp clean lines with white and grey exteriors to create a light and airy ambiance, while vibrant artwork and colorful fabrics contrast nicely against the neutral furnishings evoking a unique sense of style.
Built with relaxation and comfort in mind, the luxurious villa is arranged over three levels to ensure every room makes the most of the stunning ocean views. Guests enter the villa at the uppermost level, via gazebo where a large shell chandelier is suspended from the traditional serap roof. This floor houses a lobby, the huge master suite and one of the three guest bedrooms. Cream terrazzo stairs leads down to the ground floor, where two guest bedrooms are situated on either side of an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area that overlooks the swimming pool and terrace. On the villa’s lower level, accessed via a spiral staircase, is a children’s playroom.
With an 18-metre infinity pool that appears to drop straight into the ocean; a terrace from which to-die-for sunsets unfold each evening; a master bedroom with its own pool balcony just made for sipping cocktails, and luxurious bathtubs offering some of the best views in the house, it’s hard not to get into the laid-back Lombok groove at Malimbu Cliff Villa.
The villa makes a wonderful and relaxing retreat, for $600-$800 per night, from here.
